Barbara Phillips peers in to the oven at her broccoli casserole bubbling with cheese. The smell of turkey and mashed potatoes fills her kitchen as she rushes from the oven to the stove putting the final touches on the Thanksgiving dinner. The holiday chaos is definitely in the air and Barbara is in pure heaven. "Helping to co-ordinate a meal for an extended family of 50? No problem, " she says with a smile, "If it means getting all of the people I love together so we can talk and catch up, then it's worth it." It's no great surprise that Barbara is such a fan of these annual Thanksgiving gatherings. For her, there's nothing more important than sharing these memorable moments in life with family and friends. "What's really important is connecting with the special people in our lives," she says. "Thanksgiving is more than just a fancy dinner, it's a great way to gather together and celebrate."
Born in Minnesota, Barbara has lived in North Carolina most of her life. A graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh and East Carolina University in Greenville, she loves calling North Carolina "home". As a former divisional merchandise manager and store manager with Belk, she's always been an individual guiding others and making a difference in their lives. Reaching out to orphans in Africa has become a passion as she helps support these children through the ZOE-Giving Hope Ministry. She continues to reach out locally through her church, local emergency food pantry, and Military Missions in Action.
With a strong connection to her community and a deep drive to make a difference, it's no surprise that Barbara is such a success in her career. As a leading real estate consultant in Wake/Granville Counties and surrounding areas, she reaches out to her clients on a personal level so she can get to know their needs and help them accomplish their real estate dreams. "I get to know my client as a friend so they feel comfortable sharing their goals, desires and concerns with me," she says.
